STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over two decades refining the STOTT PILATES ® method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES® training and certification programs. It’s used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.
21st century life can cause a lot of pain. Hunching over screens, phones, steering wheels, etc. for hours on end, day after day takes our bodies away from health and into the pain and injury cycle. Foundation Training is a simple solution that gives you the means to change the way you move and correct the imbalances caused by our modern habits. Through a series of postures, poses, and movements, Foundation Training activates your posterior muscle chain, anchors the hips, decompresses the spine, and teaches you to take the burden of supporting the body out of your joints and put it where it belongs: in your muscles.
Through our dedication and passion for mind-body fitness, we believe that what we offer is for everyone, regardless of initial fitness level. We provide our students workouts that will leave them injury free and feeling strong and centered throughout the course of their day. To achieve our mission of personalized attention, we limit the size of our classes to four students for group equipment, six students for TRX®, and 12 for Pilates Matwork, Foundation Training, and Total Barre™ .
We believe in staying within the scope of our practice and working closely with those in the medical profession to ensure our clients always receive safe, effective workouts.
