Q: Why should I incorporate Studio 48 Pilates and Fitness into my fitness routine?
A: Studio 48 is a non-competitive, nurturing environment dedicated to providing exceptional training to our students. Our goal is to restore your body back to and to keep it in it's neutral alignment so you can live a healthy life free of muscle tension. We have spent countless hours in educational training to share the Pilates technique with those who want to learn. If you want attention to detail and do not mind being picked apart until each movement is perfect, then Studio 48 is what you need to Find Your Center.
Q: I’m new to Pilates. What’s the best option for me?
A: There is a new client package for just $99 that will give you a taste of what Studio 48 has to offer. This package includes one hour Pilates session, two group equipment classes, and two-weeks of unlimited group fitness classes. This can be purchased online by clicking on online store, packages, new client package.
Q: What is the difference in a group fitness and group equipment class?
A: Group Fitness classes consist of TRX, Total Barre™, and Pilates Matwork. There are just six participants for TRX and twelve max for Total Barre™ and Pilates Matwork. Group equipment classes are on the STOTT PILATES V2Max Reformer Pus®, Stability Chair, and/or Arc Barrels. There are only four participants per class and each student has their own piece of equipment for the entire session. If starting out for the first time, we recommend you take Essential Reformer before any other group equipment class.
Q: Is there an expiration date on packages?
A: Yes. We ask that you commit to yourself and to Studio 48. All private and semi-private packages have a six month expiration from the first day of use. Group equipment and group fitness class packages have a three month expiration from the first day of use. All packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Socks are a must for any equipment class! Toesox™ are available for purchase if you leave yours at home. For women it is best to wear form fitted pants and tops. Your instructor wants to see how your body moves, so the tighter the pants the better. Men may be more comfortable in pants or a tight fitted short under a looser fit. We do some exercises with legs our legs in the air, so for your comfort level and ours, baggy shorts are not recommended. For TRX® classes wear clean athletic shoes. Muddy shoes are really frowned upon so pretty please bring your gym shoes, not your street shoes.
Q: How many classes should I take a week?
A: To see maximum results, we recommend at least one Private Pilates Session a week along with at least two group classes a week. To maintain strength and build lean muscle, at least two classes a week will suite your needs.
Q: How do I redeem points for free classes, private, and semi-private sessions?
A: There's this great customer loyalty program called Perkville. Every time you attend a class, refer a friend, or post something on Facebook about Studio 48 Pilates and Fitness through Perkville you get points added directly into your Perkville account. You just have to log-on to Perkville's website, create an account, and boom you get points just for signing up! Please redeem your points for classes or sessions directly through Perkville. Points earned usually take 48 hours to be added to your point balance.
Q: How do I sign up for classes?
A: Create an account here or click on the Book Online Tab. You can register for group fitness classes, group equipment classes, and private sessions online and apply payment.
Q: What if I am on the wait list for a class?
A: We limit the number of participants for group equipment classes to four, six for TRX®, and 12 for Total Barre or Matwork. If you try to book a class and it is full, your name will be placed on the wait list. If there is a cancellation you will receive an email or text message saying you made it into the class.
Q: I bought a package but I cannot book a class?
A: When you purchase a package or a month unlimited, the system will set your start date based on the first class you schedule. Once you schedule that first class the system will not let you book anything before that date. If this is you, cancel yourself out of the class you scheduled earlier and then book the class you want to start with. Also, group fitness classes and group equipment classes have separate package and pricing options.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We require a 4 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel a class or a private session, please allow 4 hour notice to your instructor. This will give someone else the chance to workout in your place. If you cancel in less than 4 hours, you will be charged the full amount of the session missed. We ask the same for group fitness and group equipment classes as well to give someone else the chance to fill your spot. One and Three Month Unlimited Group Fitness Package holders will be charged $5 for any no-show or late cancellation. One and Three Month Unlimited Group Equipment Package holders will be charged $15 for any no-show or late cancellation to classes signed up for.
Q: Can I purchase a gift certificate?
A: Heck yes you can! And the best thing is you can purchase them online and the recipient will receive an email with your generous gift of good health!
Q: Does Studio 48 offer Continuing Education Credits for STOTT PILATES® and/or ACE?
A: Yes. Gabrielle Cahoon is a STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer and is an ACE provider. If you cannot attend a CEC workshop, you can schedule a private CEC session through Merrithew Health and Fitness™ at Studio 48 Pilates and Fitness for $110/hour.
Q: How awesome will I become if I do Pilates?
A: It all depends of how much energy and effort you put into each session. Come in with your game face on and leave all your baggage, gossip, troubles, and problems at the door. Pilates, when done properly with concentration and control, will make you feel and look awesome.
